The sun rises at its highest .
Light blesses the soil far and beyond.
A pitchy dark room.

Arrays of darkness, rich and full.
Light strangled, empty and silent.
Shedding begins.

Heavy Humidity trapped, turns damp.
Ghostly temperatures rise up filling the atmosphere.
The warming scent of stillness.

A choir of crickets cries,
“Creak, Creak”, the seconds tick by.
Another meal right on time.

Rainham, Reptile Centre. (2017)

A lizard is heard.
Swooshing by; scales the colour of lime.
Crickets moving outside the lines.

The chameleons hang watching invertedly.
Shifting and blending, hiding and pretending.
Poetic eyes full of lies.

A lizard is heard.
Scaling high, locomotive skills beyond mine.
The chameleons are just fine.

Squatting stubbornly.
The toad, “ribbit, ribbit” and leaps away.
“Thud!” The bosses last words.

Lizards Facing East (2017)

A lizard is heard.
Creeping low, eyes emerge from the shadows.
The toad croaks and dies

A hidden portal.
The turtle moves through time and space.
Bark snaps along the way.

A lizard is heard.
Tiptoeing across the water; ripple effect.
The turtle reacts.

Dancing deadly, winding and coiling.
The snake smirks and charms her prey.
The passing on of power.

Snacks (2017)

A lizard is heard.
Arching his vertebrae and raising his tail
The snake encounters love.

Crystalline scales, pocket knife teeth.
The crocodile swims in sacred tears.
Submerged in greatness.

A lizard is heard.
Praying for his victims in the corner.
The crocodile worships silence.

Open Stillness (2017)

The sun sets.
Day turns to silent night.
Heat vibrates.
